Montedoro’s wood is located in Senigallia (AN) between Scapezzano and the river Cesano, and is crossed by a couple of ditches that provide water supply for many part of the year.
The vegetation consists of several oak trees (quercus pubescens) of large dimensions,
maple , ash, poplar and willow.
The forest, though small in size, is protected floristic area of the Marche Region, because here live a very rare plant:
the dragonea or erba serpentara (Dracunculus vulgaris).
Saturday, June 15, 2013 I went to visit the wood and took some pictures,
i also saw one common redstart and two young wood pigeon!
I hope you like it, click on the pictures to see larger.
