Imagine a small valley south-facing at 650 meters above sea level, narrow, closed, virtually invisible from all sides, with arable land and water sources, protected from the cold winds of the north by a big mountain.
Now imagine a big cave with a huge natural rock arch at its entrance, with a rear exit that leads to a waterfall.
You’ve come to Fondarca one of the most beautiful examples of prehistoric worship place of the Marches region, here lived the ancient Umbrian people, shy, reserved, a bit stubborn as their descendants today. 🙂
